SERVICE – 1 Many clients look for a simple, but elegant finish in white. Before 2nd Fix carpentry Ceilings and Walls get sprayed with 2 coats of white emulsion. there’s always the option to go with a different shade if required.
All though a niche service our small but nimble crew haven’t been overtaken as FCIS is still the preferred choice for so many new build clients. We would credit this to our commitment to preparation and the finish.
Not every plasterer is created equally so if a new build shows up areas that needs attention, such as those in the picture we will go the extra mile to ensure the plaster gets the attention it deserves. We genuinely want every square inch looking as good as reasonably possible.

SERVICE – 2 some clients plan their new build painting colours well in advance, and we’re happy to help bring their vision to life. A key decision is whether to go for a fully sprayed finish or a back-rolled finish—a topic that always sparks debate! We’re here to offer expert advice on what works best.
After so many jobs its fair to say we have our process down but were still open to learning a new way if it makes for a better finish. Its amazing how a small change in the way you carry out an aspect of a job can yield a much better outcome.
Over the years we’ve seen the common and uncommon issues that can arise with new build painting. For example plaster mapping is a common issue that’s caused by high levels of Alkaline in the sand and cement. It occurs in 50% of new builds. When the paint is wet a client may be alarmed by what they’re looking at. We are on hand to treat it properly and, ensure our clients are fully informed on what it is, its limitations and any future courses of action that they might need to take .

SERVICE – 3 Some clients will require our luxury full finish service for walls, ceilings and timber surfaces. We’re the last trades in the house for this services. Timberwork is meticuolsy prepped and either sprayed or brush finished in situ, delivering a flawless finish that ouzez class and sophistication. Walls are finished last, receiving a high quality durable coat of the clients favourite finish.
Tape and joint finishing, also known as drywall finishing, has become increasingly popular in Ireland in recent years, especially in new build homes. It is a faster and more cost-effective alternative to traditional sand and cement plaster or skim plaster, and when finished and painted correctly it can look just as good as any skimmed wall. We regularly work on new build homes that use drywall finishing in Ireland and the results can be excellent when the correct process is followed.
However, one of the most common issues we see in new builds is that the wrong decoration method is used on tape and jointed walls and ceilings. Tape and joint painting should not be treated the same as painting skim plaster. Using standard painting methods without the correct preparation and paint system often leads to flashing, visible joints, uneven sheen levels and an overall patchy finish, particularly in natural light. This is a common problem we see on drywall painting in Ireland when the wrong system is used.
This is why using the correct tape and joint paint system is extremely important. The right primers, sealers and finishing coats help to even out the surface, reduce flashing and create a uniform finish across the entire wall and ceiling area. When the correct system is used, the final result is smooth, consistent and professional looking.
Choosing an experienced company to carry out tape and joint painting makes a huge difference to the final finish. We have extensive experience working with tape and jointed and drywall finished houses and understand the correct preparation, products and spray application methods required to achieve the best possible result. Our goal is always the same — a clean, even finish throughout the house with no visible joints, patches or flashing.
We were really impressed with the quality of the finished product. I think we got the best quality finish but also at a very reasonable price. Brian was very professional throughout and responded immediately to any questions we had.

We got Brian and the team in to give 2 coats to the ceilings and walls as a move-in spray painting job. We had planned on putting on colours when we moved in but the quality of finish was so good that we delayed painting the walls with brushes and rollers for nearly 3 years after. Highly Recommended…

We hired FCIS for spray painting our new self-build from top to bottom. They are so meticulous. The finish they got on the timberwork was amazing and is often commented on by guests to our home. So glad we went with this company., Thanks again

A: Yes, the paint we use and the spray like finish rollers we supply you with can effectively deal with any touch ups.
A: A spray job leaves a smooth finish and has no brush or roller marks. Most clients appreciate this feature. In regards to adhesion, once the correct preparation procedures are followed there is no difference when comparing both methods.
A: A spray job’s lifespan is similar to a brush and roller finish. However, if good quality paint is used, the smooth spray painted finish can keep it looking fresher for longer.
A: To maximise the cost saving for the client, a spray job on a new build should be done before 2nd fix electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and tiling.
A: No. A spray job uses the exact same paint as a brush and roller finish.
A: Our clients satisfaction is of utmost importance. Payment is processed on the final day of the job when the work is completed.
A: This is possible and gives an excellent finish. Were happy to ensure our clients get the colour and finish they desire.
A: First Choice Interior Sprayers leave a finished job with all sanding and filling completed. There is no requirement for further coats after our job
A: Many of our clients will live on our 2 coat sprayed finish for many years. The uniform colour applied usually leads to client adding additional splashes of colours as the years go on.
A: We will sand what’s called “nibs and snots” (plaster droppings). We also sand minor irregularities. However, we are not there to make a bad plaster job perfect.
A: Like a brush and roller finish, standard practise for changing a colour would be 2 coats.
A: Our service is normally complete in 2-3 days.
A: The best areas to check are the corners of the window reveals where the steel angle bead was fixed. These areas stay wet for the longest. You should get a reading of 12 or below before spraying.
A: This varies but a general rule of thumb would be Summer 3-4 weeks Winter 4-6 weeks.
